...OCCASIONAL HEAVY RAIN THROUGH THIS EVENING MAY CAUSE
FLOODING...

.PERIODS OF RAIN...HEAVY AT TIMES...ARE EXPECTED THROUGH THIS
EVENING ACROSS MUCH OF MAINE AND THE EASTERN HALF OF NEW
HAMPSHIRE. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF 1 TO AS MUCH AS 2 INCHES IS
EXPECTED THROUGH THIS EVENING. STORM TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2
TO 4 INCHES WILL BE WIDESPREAD WITH AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF 5 INCHES
POSSIBLE. WHILE THE RAIN WILL NOT FALL AT EXTREME ENOUGH RATES TO
CAUSE FLASH FLOODING...THE CUMULATIVE EFFECT OF THIS MUCH RAIN
OVER THE MULTI-DAY PERIOD WILL BE ENOUGH TO CAUSE SOME SMALL
RIVERS AND STREAMS TO RISE TO BANKFULL.

* PORTIONS OF WESTERN MAINE AND NEW HAMPSHIRE...INCLUDING THE
  FOLLOWING AREAS...IN WESTERN MAINE...ANDROSCOGGIN...CENTRAL
  SOMERSET...COASTAL CUMBERLAND...COASTAL WALDO...COASTAL YORK...
   INTERIOR CUMBERLAND...INTERIOR WALDO...INTERIOR YORK...
  KENNEBEC...KNOX...LINCOLN...NORTHERN FRANKLIN...NORTHERN
  OXFORD...SAGADAHOC...SOUTHERN FRANKLIN...SOUTHERN OXFORD AND
  SOUTHERN SOMERSET. IN NEW HAMPSHIRE...BELKNAP...COASTAL
  ROCKINGHAM...INTERIOR ROCKINGHAM...MERRIMACK...NORTHERN
  CARROLL...SOUTHERN CARROLL AND STRAFFORD.

* UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT.

* OCCASIONAL HEAVY RAIN IS EXPECTED THROUGH THIS EVENING. AN
  ADDITIONAL 1 TO AS MUCH AS 2 INCHES OF RAIN IS EXPECTED.

* THE CUMULATIVE EFFECT OF HEAVY RAIN OVER THE PAST FEW DAYS AND
  THIS EVENING WILL CAUSE RIVERS AND STREAMS TO RISE. FLOODING OF
  STREAMS AND SMALL RIVERS IS POSSIBLE. URBAN AND POOR DRAINAGE
  FLOODING IS EXPECTED. THE HEAVIER RAIN WILL TAPER OFF BY LATE
  EVENING.

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE
FLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE
PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.
