...FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
MIDNIGHT EST TONIGHT...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO HAS ISSUED A FREEZING
RAIN ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
MIDNIGHT EST TONIGHT.

* LOCATIONS...LEWIS COUNTY.

* TIMING...EARLY THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH MIDNIGHT TONIGHT.

* ACCUMULATIONS...ICE ACCUMULATING UP TO ONE TENTH OF AN INCH THIS
  AFTERNOON AND UP TO ONE TENTH OF AN INCH TONIGHT...LEADING TO
  STORM TOTALS OF UP TO TWO TENTHS OF AN INCH.

* IMPACTS...PERIODS OF FREEZING RAIN WILL RESULT IN A COATING OF
  ICE ON UNTREATED SURFACES...MAKING THEM EXTREMELY SLIPPERY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN ICING IS EXPECTED IN THE
AFFECTED AREAS, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO DISRUPT TRAVEL OR DAMAGE TREES
AND POWER LINES. INSTEAD, PATCHES OF ICE WILL CAUSE SLICK SPOTS
ON ROADWAYS AND SIDEWALKS. WALKING AND DRIVING COULD THEREFORE BE
DIFFICULT, BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BINGHAMTON HAS ISSUED A FREEZING
RAIN ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
4 AM EST SUNDAY.

* LOCATIONS...NORTHERN ONEIDA COUNTY.

* HAZARDS...LIGHT FREEZING RAIN.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...AROUND A TENTH OF ICE ACCUMULATION.

* TIMING...A MIX OF RAIN AND FREEZING RAIN WILL DEVELOP LATE THIS
  AFTERNOON AND POSSIBLY BECOME JUST FREEZING RAIN FOR AWHILE THIS
  EVENING BEFORE TRANSITIONING TO PLAIN RAIN LATE TONIGHT.

* TEMPERATURES...AROUND THE FREEZING MARK THEN WARMING INTO THE
  MIDDLE 30S OVERNIGHT.

* IMPACTS...ROADS MAY BECOME SLIPPERY WITH SOME ICING ESPECIALLY
  THIS EVENING. THE ICE ACCRETION WILL NOT BE SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH
  FOR POWER OUTAGES TO OCCUR.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF FREEZING RAIN OR
FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS. SLOW DOWN AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
