* LOCATIONS...LAKE EFFECT SNOW BANDS WILL BE MOST PERSISTENT
  DOWNWIND OF CAYUGA LAKE...OVER SOUTHEASTERN TOMPKINS...
  NORTHERN AND EASTERN TIOGA...SOUTHWESTERN BROOME...AND
  NORTHERN SUSQUEHANNA COUNTIES. SOME INCLUDED TOWNS ARE
  CAROLINE CENTER... DANBY...NEWARK VALLEY...BERKSHIRE...
  APALACHIN...ENDICOTT... VESTAL CENTER...AND FRIENDSVILLE.

* HAZARDS...LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...TOTALS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES BY LATER THIS
  EVENING...ESPECIALLY WHERE SNOW BANDS ARE MOST PERSISTENT.

* TIMING...NARROW BANDS OF HEAVY SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO IMPACT
  THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON...AND INTO THE EARLY EVENING HOURS.

* TEMPERATURES...FALLING THROUGH THE TEENS THIS AFTERNOON...AND
  INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS THIS EVENING. BITTERLY COLD WIND CHILLS
  OF 15 TO 24 BELOW ZERO.

* WINDS...NORTHWEST 10 TO 20 MPH...WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.

* IMPACTS...SLIPPERY SNOW COVERED ROADS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY MEANS LAKE EFFECT SNOW IS FORECAST
THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DIFFICULT IN SOME AREAS. LAKE EFFECT SNOW
SHOWERS TYPICALLY ALIGN THEMSELVES IN BANDS AND WILL LIKELY BE
INTENSE ENOUGH TO DROP SEVERAL INCHES IN LOCALIZED AREAS. USE
CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING.
