MONDAY FOR FORT PECK LAKE...

The National Weather Service in Glasgow has issued a High Wind
Warning, which is in effect from 10 AM to 8 PM MDT Sunday. A Lake
Wind Advisory has also been issued. This Lake Wind Advisory for
Fort Peck Lake is in effect from 8 PM Sunday to 6 PM MDT Monday.

* WINDS...West 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

* TIMING for High Wind Warning...Late Sunday Morning through
  early Sunday evening.

* TIMING for Lake Wind Advisory...This afternoon, through mid
  Sunday Morning. Then again mid Sunday evening through Monday.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
  Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be
  difficult...especially for high profile vehicles along north
  south roadways.

* Fort Peck Lake IMPACTS...These winds will make open waters of
  the lake rough and hazardous, and will result in high waves
  which may tip or swamp smaller craft.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should use extreme caution if venturing onto Fort Peck
Lake during a high wind event. For your personal safety, avoid
the waters during this time.

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage. Take action to
secure trash cans, lawn furniture, and other loose or lightweight
outdoor objects.

...LAKE WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO 8 PM MDT SUNDAY...

The National Weather Service in Missoula has issued a Lake Wind
Advisory...which is in effect from 6 AM to 8 PM MDT Sunday.

* Impacts/Timing: Gusty winds will develop late tonight, peaking
  between 11am and 2pm Sunday. Increased chop on Flathead Lake
  will cause difficult conditions for small water craft.

* Winds: South winds around 15 mph in the morning becoming
  southwesterly 15 to 25 mph with gusts to near 40 mph possible by
  mid day.

* Wave heights: 1 to 3 feet, locally up to 4 feet on the northeast
  side of the lake.

* Locations impacted include: Flathead Lake, Flathead Valley,
  Mission Valley, and Polson

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.

Note...The experimental wave height forecasts are representative
of the mid lake waters and downwind shores. Wave heights may be
significantly less on upwind shores.
