* RIP CURRENTS...WIND AND WAVE CONDITIONS SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT
  OF VERY STRONG RIP CURRENTS ON SUNDAY. THESE RIP CURRENTS WILL
  BE LIFE THREATENING TO ANYONE WHO ENTERS THE SURF.

SUNDAY EVENING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A COASTAL
FLOOD ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO
2 AM EDT SUNDAY. A HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK HAS ALSO BEEN ISSUED
FROM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING.

* TIDE LEVELS...HIGH TIDE WILL OCCUR IN CHARLESTON HARBOR AROUND
  MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. PEAK TIDE LEVELS WILL REACH BETWEEN 7.0 AND
  7.4 FEET MEAN LOWER LOW WATER.

* IMPACTS...INUNDATION OF SALTWATER IN AND NEAR LOW-LYING COASTAL
  AREAS COULD LEAD TO SOME ROAD CLOSURES AND FLOODING OF PROPERTIES.
  FLOODING IS ESPECIALLY LIKELY IN DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON AND
  PORTIONS OF MOUNT PLEASANT.

* RIP CURRENTS...WIND AND WAVE CONDITIONS SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT
  OF VERY STRONG RIP CURRENTS ON SUNDAY. THESE RIP CURRENTS WILL
  BE LIFE THREATENING TO ANYONE WHO ENTERS THE SURF.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE PREPARED FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF ROAD CLOSURES AND MINOR
FLOODING OF PROPERTIES. IF TRAVEL IS NECESSARY...DO NOT ATTEMPT
TO DRIVE THROUGH WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH.

EVENING.

* LOCATION...COASTAL PENDER...NEW HANOVER...AND GEORGETOWN COUNTIES.

* RIP CURRENT RISK...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK FOR COASTAL
  PENDER...NEW HANOVER...AND GEORGETOWN COUNTIES. MODERATE RIP
  CURRENT RISK FOR COASTAL BRUNSWICK AND HORRY COUNTIES.

* SURF HEIGHT...4 TO 6 FEET.

* OTHER HAZARDS...GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS WILL PREVAIL ON SUNDAY
  WITH SUSTAINED WINDS AROUND 25 KTS AND HIGHER GUSTS POSSIBLE.
  HIGH WINDS WILL CREATE ROUGH SURF CONDITIONS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

THERE IS A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS.

RIP CURRENTS ARE POWERFUL CHANNELS OF WATER FLOWING QUICKLY AWAY
FROM SHORE...WHICH OCCUR MOST OFTEN AT LOW SPOTS OR BREAKS IN THE
SANDBAR AND IN THE VICINITY OF STRUCTURES SUCH AS GROINS...JETTIES
AND PIERS. HEED THE ADVICE OF LIFEGUARDS AND THE BEACH PATROL. PAY
ATTENTION TO FLAGS AND POSTED SIGNS.

IF YOU BECOME CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT...DO NOT PANIC. REMAIN CALM
AND BEGIN TO SWIM PARALLEL TO SHORE. ONCE YOU ARE AWAY FROM THE
FORCE OF THE RIP CURRENT...BEGIN TO SWIM BACK TO THE BEACH. DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO SWIM DIRECTLY AGAINST A RIP CURRENT. EVEN A STRONG
SWIMMER CAN BECOME EXHAUSTED QUICKLY.
