SOUTH SHORE IN ASHLAND AND IRON COUNTIES WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON
THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING. GUSTY NORTH WINDS AND HEAVY SNOWFALL
RATES WILL LIKELY REDUCE VISIBILITIES AND CAUSE HAZARDOUS TRAVEL
CONDITIONS WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THANKSGIVING MORNING.

* LOCATION...ALONG THE SOUTH SHORE ACROSS NORTHERN ASHLAND AND
  IRON COUNTIES...INCLUDING MELLEN...HIGH BRIDGE...UPSON...AND
  MONTREAL.

* TIMING...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL DEVELOP WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND
  INTENSIFY WEDNESDAY NIGHT. SNOW SHOWERS WILL BE HEAVY AT
  TIMES. SNOW WILL TAPER OFF LATE THURSDAY MORNING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...EXPECT SNOW AMOUNTS TO RANGE FROM 4 TO 7
  INCHES ACROSS NORTHERN ASHLAND AND IRON COUNTIES ALONG THE
  U.S. HIGHWAY 2 AND 51 CORRIDORS...AND ACROSS STATE HIGHWAYS 77
  AND 13.

* WINDS/VISIBILITY...GUSTY NORTH WINDS AND HEAVY SNOWFALL RATES
  WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO A HALF MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL CONDITIONS WILL DETERIORATE WEDNESDAY EVENING
  AND THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY MEANS LAKE-EFFECT SNOW IS FORECAST
THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DIFFICULT IN SOME AREAS. LAKE-EFFECT SNOW
SHOWERS TYPICALLY ALIGN THEMSELVES IN BANDS AND WILL LIKELY BE
INTENSE ENOUGH TO DROP SEVERAL INCHES IN LOCALIZED AREAS. USE
CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING.

SNOW ADVISORY FOR LAKE EFFECT SNOW...AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN
EFFECT FROM 3 PM EST /2 PM CST/ WEDNESDAY TO 10 AM EST /9 AM CST/
THURSDAY.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER...

 * LIGHT TO MODERATE LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS WILL DEVELOP WEDNESDAY
   AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE THROUGH THANKSGIVING MORNING.

 * NORTH WINDS GUSTING AS HIGH AS 25 MPH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND
   NIGHT WILL CAUSE PATCHY BLOWING SNOW...MAINLY NEAR LAKE
   SUPERIOR.

 * BY THE TIME THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS DIMINISH BY THANKSGIVING
   AFTERNOON...PLAN ON TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS RANGING FROM 6 TO 8
   INCHES OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN FROM IRONWOOD AND WAKEFIELD TO
   WHITE PINE AND ROCKLAND. THERE WILL BE NO MORE THAN 2 TO 4 INCHES
   WELL INLAND FROM WATERSMEET TO PAULDING.

IMPACTS...

 * THE SNOW AND PATCHY BLOWING SNOW WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS DRIVING
   CONDITIONS LATE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON INTO THANKSGIVING DAY.
