424 AM CST FRI NOV 21 2014

...LIGHT FREEZING RAIN TONIGHT...

.AREAS OF LIGHT FREEZING RAIN AND FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL OVERSPREAD
THE AREA FROM SOUTH TO NORTH THIS EVENING AND INTO THE OVERNIGHT.
ICE ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE GENERALLY LIGHT...BUT STILL ENOUGH TO
PRODUCE SLICK ROADS AND SIDEWALKS. ALTHOUGH THE AIR TEMPERATURE IS
EXPECTED TO RISE OVERNIGHT AT OR ABOVE FREEZING IN MUCH OF THE
ADVISORY AREA...THE FROZEN GROUND WILL STILL CAUSE THE RAIN TO
FREEZE. TEMPERATURES MAY WARM INTO THE MID TO UPPER 30S AFTER 3 AM
CST SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80 AND LIMIT THE FREEZING RAIN IN THOSE
AREAS BY EARLY SATURDAY MORNING. CONTINUED WARMING TEMPERATURES
AFTER 6 AM CST SATURDAY MORNING SHOULD MELT ANY ACCUMULATED ICE.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN QUAD CITIES HAS ISSUED A FREEZING
RAIN ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 3 AM
CST SATURDAY.

* TIMING...FREEZING RAIN WILL ARRIVE AFTER 6 PM AND CONTINUE
  THROUGH EARLY SATURDAY MORNING. THIS PRECIPITATION WILL
  GRADUALLY CHANGE OVER TO RAIN FROM SOUTH TO NORTH AFTER MIDNIGHT
  AND INTO EARLY SATURDAY MORNING.

* STORM TOTAL ICE ACCUMULATIONS...UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE
  ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED.

* IMPACTS...FREEZING RAIN WILL MAKE ROADWAYS AND SIDEWALKS SLICK.
  FROZEN BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES WILL ALSO BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO SLICK SPOTS.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF FREEZING RAIN OR
FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES.  BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS.  SLOW DOWN AND BE CAREFUL WHILE TRAVELING.

IOWA LATE TONIGHT AND INTO SATURDAY MORNING. ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE
GENERALLY LIGHT...BUT STILL ENOUGH TO PRODUCE SLICK ROADS AND
SIDEWALKS. THE COLD GROUND TEMPERATURES WILL AID IN FREEZING
PRECIPITATION EVEN AFTER AIR TEMPERATURES RISE ABOVE FREEZING.
WARMING TEMPERATURES DURING THE MORNING ON SATURDAY SHOULD MELT
ANY ACCUMULATED ICE.
