.KEY MESSAGES...

* Light precipitation possible today across northern Missouri-
  though little in the way of accumulation is expected.

* Arctic airmass is expected Saturday.  Accumulating snow is likely
  across northern Missouri, setting the stage for subzero
  temperatures Saturday night as skies clear.  Light north winds
  could produce wind chills of -15 to -20 F across northeast
  Missouri Sunday morning.

Light snow is forecast today and tonight with light icing
possible over parts of southern and western Iowa.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Accumulating snowfall is forecast on Saturday.

Wind chill values of 20 to 30 below zero are increasingly likely
Saturday night into Sunday morning.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, east central Nebraska, northeast Nebraska and southeast
Nebraska.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Light, mixed-precipitation is possible (30-40% PoPs) near the SD
border into west-central IA late tonight into Thursday morning.
Minor ice accumulation could lead to minor travel impacts (10-20%
chance).

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Another round of light snow is likely (60-80%) in northeast Nebraska
and west-central Iowa late Friday night and Saturday. There is a
40-60% chance of minor travel impacts in those areas.

Temperatures turn much colder Friday through Sunday morning. Coldest
air temperatures of single digits above zero to around -10 are
forecast Saturday night into Sunday morning. Associated wind chills
of -10 to -20 are expected from northeast Nebraska into southwest
Iowa at that time.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

Accumulating snow is expected this afternoon into the overnight. A
winter weather advisory is in effect for portions of the region
where 2 to 4 inches of snow could fall, especially during the
evening commute.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

Accumulating snow is likely on Saturday. Much of the area is
likely to receive between 1 to 3 inches of snow.

Windy conditions are expected Friday into Friday night as arctic
cold moves into the Midwest. Wind chills between 20 to 30 below
zero are possible Saturday night into Sunday morning.
