AT 950 PM MDT...A LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CURRENTLY
EXTENDS FROM WEST EL PASO NORTHEAST TO AREAS EAST OF UPHAM. THESE
STORMS ARE MOVING SLOWLY NORTH-NORTHEAST AND WILL BE AFFECTING
CENTRAL DONA ANA COUNTY, WEST EL PASO, EASTERN SIERRA COUNTY AND
WESTERN OTERO COUNTY. THE STRONGEST OF THESE STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF
PRODUCING LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN WITH ACCUMULATIONS UP TO AN INCH.
0.18 INCHES OF RAIN HAS BEEN REPORTED IN LA UNION WITH THESE
STORMS. WIND GUSTS TO 40 MPH AND PEA SIZED HAIL ARE ALSO A POSSIBILITY.
MOTORISTS ALONG INTERSTATES 10 AND 25 SHOULD USE CAUTION WHEN
APPROACHING THESE STORMS AS VISIBILITIES IN HEAVY RAIN WILL BE
REDUCED.

EXPAND IN COVERAGE ACROSS MUCH OF EASTERN NEW MEXICO. TORRENTIAL
DOWNPOURS WITH RAIN AT RATES BETWEEN 1 AND 2 INCHES PER HOUR...WIND
GUSTS TO 45 MPH...AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING STRIKES WILL ACCOMPANY THE
STRONGER ACTIVITY. THE MAIN FOCUS AREA THROUGH 11 PM WILL STRETCH
ALONG INTERSTATE 25 BETWEEN GLORIETA PASS...LAS VEGAS...AND RATON...
INTERSTATE 40 BETWEEN MORIARTY...CLINES CORNERS...AND SANTA ROSA...
AS WELL AS MUCH OF THE SOUTHEAST PLAINS FROM ROSWELL TO PORTALES...
CLOVIS...AND FORT SUMNER.
