...VERY WINDY CONDITIONS ACROSS THE RIDGES OF THE SOUTHERN AND
CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS TONIGHT...

.WINDS WILL INCREASE ACROSS THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS AHEAD OF A
LARGE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. THE
HIGH ELEVATIONS OF THE SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA
MOUNTAINS WILL EXPERIENCE STRONG WIND GUSTS FROM THE SOUTH LATE
SUNDAY. THE COLD FRONT ASSOCIATED WITH THE SYSTEM IS SET TO
ARRIVE DURING THE PRE-DAWN HOURS ON MONDAY...AND WINDS SHOULD
RELAX IN THE WAKE OF THE FRONT.

  CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS.

* HAZARDS...VERY WINDY CONDITIONS.

* TIMING...WINDS WILL INCREASE THIS AFTERNOON AND REMAIN BRISK
  THROUGH TONIGHT.

* WINDS...SOUTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH.

* IMPACTS...THE VERY WINDY CONDITIONS COMBINED WITH MODERATE
  RAINFALL WILL MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH
  PROFILE VEHICLES AND IN MOUNTAIN PASSES. A FEW TREES OR LIMBS
  COULD BE DOWNED BY THE WIND AND RAIN...CAUSING ISOLATED POWER
  OUTAGES.

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT WINDS OF 35 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS
THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH
PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.

CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY MONDAY MORNING ACROSS MOST OF THE EASTERN
MOUNTAINS...

.SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS WILL INCREASE IN STRENGTH AS A LOW PRESSURE
CENTER MOVES NORTH OF THE AREA. SUSTAINED WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 15
TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF
THE EASTERN MOUNTAINS. LOCALLY HIGHER GUSTS COULD OCCUR IN A FEW
SPOTS...SUCH AS THE HIGHEST PEAKS IN THE MOUNTAINS.
