...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON FOR
SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO...THE GUADALUPE AND DAVIS MOUNTAINS...VAN
HORN REGION...AND TRANS PECOS REGION...

.TROPICAL MOISTURE WILL REMAIN ACROSS SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO AND
SOUTHWEST TEXAS TODAY CONTINUING TO BRING THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY
RAIN THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON. RAINFALL RATES EXCEEDING 1 INCH PER
HOUR ARE POSSIBLE WITHIN THE WATCH AREA...AND COMBINED WITH
SATURATED SOILS WILL LIKELY PRODUCE QUICK RUNOFF RESULTING IN
FLASH FLOODING...ESPECIALLY AT LOW WATER CROSSINGS AND AREAS WITH
POOR DRAINAGE.

* PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO AND TEXAS...INCLUDING THE
  FOLLOWING AREAS...IN SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO...CENTRAL LEA
  COUNTY...EDDY COUNTY PLAINS...GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS OF EDDY
  COUNTY...NORTHERN LEA COUNTY AND SOUTHERN LEA COUNTY. IN
  TEXAS...CRANE...DAVIS/APACHE MOUNTAINS AREA...GUADALUPE
  MOUNTAINS...LOVING...PECOS...REEVES COUNTY AND UPPER TRANS
  PECOS...VAN HORN AND HIGHWAY 54 CORRIDOR...WARD AND WINKLER.

* THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON

* AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN IS POSSIBLE IN THE WATCH
  AREA TODAY...WITH ISOLATED AMOUNTS OF UP TO 4 INCHES POSSIBLE.

* FLOODING OF RIVERS...CREEKS...ARROYOS...LOW WATER CROSSINGS
  AND CITY STREETS WILL BE POSSIBLE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
WITH SATURATED SOILS...RUNOFF CAN CAUSE FLASH FLOODING QUICKLY.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
