THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FORT WORTH HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD ADVISORY FOR MINOR FLOODING IN POOR DRAINAGE AREAS FOR...
  JOHNSON COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS...
  BOSQUE COUNTY IN CENTRAL TEXAS...
  WESTERN HILL COUNTY IN CENTRAL TEXAS...
  HAMILTON COUNTY IN CENTRAL TEXAS...
  MILLS COUNTY IN CENTRAL TEXAS...

* UNTIL 315 AM CDT

* AT 1113 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS THAT WERE
  PRODUCING HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS THE AREA. EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM
  THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL CAUSE MINOR FLOODING. AREAS THAT ARE LOW
  LYING OR USUALLY EXPERIENCE POOR DRAINAGE ARE MOST LIKELY TO
  EXPERIENCE FLOODING. THIS MEANS SOME LOW WATER CROSSINGS IN THE
  REGION MAY BECOME IMPASSABLE. UP TO ONE INCH OF RAIN HAS ALREADY
  FALLEN.

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF ONE TO TWO INCHES IS EXPECTED OVER THE AREA.
THIS ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL MAKE MINOR FLOODING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TURN AROUND...DON`T DROWN WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS. MOST FLOOD
DEATHS OCCUR IN VEHICLES.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING.

* AT 1218 AM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY RAINFALL RATES
  IN EXCESS OF 3 INCHES PER HOUR FROM SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS. THIS
  WILL CAUSE URBAN FLOODING OVER THE AUSTIN METRO AREA. THESE
  THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN LIKELY OVER MUCH OF THE METRO
  AREA...MEANING A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MAY BE NEEDED.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
  AUSTIN...ROUND ROCK...CEDAR PARK...GEORGETOWN...PFLUGERVILLE...TAYLOR...
  ELGIN...DRIPPING SPRINGS...SERENADA...WINDEMERE...ANDERSON MILL...
  LEANDER...HUTTO...LAKEWAY...LAGO VISTA...MANOR...BEE CAVE...WEST LAKE
  HILLS...THE HILLS AND ROLLINGWOOD.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS...AND
UNDERPASSES AS WELL AS OTHER DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING.

A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS RIVER OR STREAM FLOWS ARE ELEVATED...OR PONDING

  INCLUDED THE EASTERN HALF OF GILLESPIE COUNTY...WESTERN PORTIONS
  OF BLANCO COUNTY...NORTHEASTERN KERR COUNTY...AND NORTHERN
  KENDALL COUNTY. UP TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAVE ALREADY FALLEN.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
  KERRVILLE...FREDERICKSBURG...COMFORT...ROUND MOUNTAIN...STONEWALL...
  SANDY...BANKERSMITH...ROCKY CREEK...BLOWOUT...ALBERT...KERRVILLE STATE
  PARK...HYE...ECKERT...TIVYDALE...BLUMENTHAL...GRAPETOWN...LUCKENBACH...
  CAIN CITY...CYPRESS CREEK AND LBJ STATE PARK.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...FARMLAND...AND OTHER LOW LYING
SPOTS. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO
RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODING.

IN HILLY TERRAIN THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF LOW WATER CROSSINGS WHICH ARE
POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS IN HEAVY RAIN. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS FLOODED
ROADS. FIND AN ALTERNATE ROUTE.
