* AT 719 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN DUE TO
  THUNDERSTORMS. THIS WILL CAUSE MINOR FLOODING IN THE ADVISORY AREA.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
  STEPHENVILLE...DUBLIN...MORGAN MILL AND HUCKABAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.

  CHILDRESS COUNTY IN THE PANHANDLE OF TEXAS...

* UNTIL 915 PM CDT

* AT 610 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR AND AUTOMATED RAIN GAUGES INDICATED
  HEAVY RAIN DUE TO THUNDERSTORMS. THIS WILL CAUSE MINOR FLOODING IN
  THE ADVISORY AREA. RAINFALL TOTALS OF TWO TO THREE INCHES ACROSS
  PORTIONS OF COTTLE COUNTY FROM DELWIN TO PADUCAH TO SWEARINGEN.
  ELSEWHERE RAINFALL TOTALS OF ONE HALF TO ONE INCH HAVE OCCURRED.
  GIVEN THE TERRAIN ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA...MINOR FLOODING AND
  RAPID STREAM RISES WILL BE POSSIBLE AS THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY
  CONTINUES INTO THIS EVENING.

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF ONE TO TWO INCHES IS EXPECTED OVER THE
ADVISORY AREA.

* AT 555 PM CDT THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAINFALL RATES OF OVER
  AN INCH PER HOUR IS FALLING ON AREAS THAT HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED
  HEAVY RAINFALL EARLIER TODAY. THIS RAINFALL WILL LIKELY RESULT IN
  FLOODING OF URBAN AND RURAL AREAS WITHIN THE ADVISORY AREA.

* IMPACTS FROM THIS HEAVY RAINFALL WILL INCLUDE:
  FLOODING OF LOW LYING ROADS AND INTERSECTIONS.
  FLOODING OF LOW WATER CROSSINGS...AVOID THESE AREAS.
  RAPID RISE OF AREA CREEKS...STREAMS...AND ARROYOS.

LOCATIONS IN THE ADVISORY INCLUDE...
STAMFORD...HAMLIN...AVOCA...TUXEDO...

THIS INCLUDES THE LOW WATER CROSSINGS...
  COUNTY ROAD 242 CROSSING FLAG BRANCH...
  COUNTY ROAD 245 CROSSING CALIFORNIA CREEK...
  CO RD 212 CROSSING CALIFORNIA CREEK...
  CROSSINGS ALONG COUNTY ROAD 141...
AND OTHER LOW LYING AND FLOOD PRONE PORTIONS OF JONES...SHACKELFORD
AND TAYLOR COUNTIES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE ELEVATED LEVELS ON
SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...AND PONDING OF WATER IN URBAN AREAS...
HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS WELL AS OTHER POOR DRAINAGE
AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE ELEVATED LEVELS ON
SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...AND PONDING OF WATER ON COUNTRY ROADS AND
FARMLAND ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.
