FLOOD STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BISMARCK ND
1227 PM CDT MON APR 27 2015

...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in North
Dakota...
  Souris River near Bantry affecting McHenry County
  Souris River near Towner affecting McHenry County
For the Souris River Basin including Towner...Bantry...Minor to Moderate
flooding is occurring and is expected to continue through the week.

.The continued dry weather over recent days is allowing for a
fairly rapid return of near normal water levels along the Souris
River in North Dakota. Lower releases out of Lake Darling are
working their way down stream with water levels falling now in
the Verendrye area. In the Towner to Bantry reach of the Souris
River, a distinct downward trend in water levels will be in place
by the coming weekend.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...


Safety message...Do not drive into areas where water tops the
roadway. Turn around...Don`t drown. Avoid driving on flooded roads.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Souris River near Bantry.
* until Saturday afternoon.
* At 12:00 PM Monday the stage was 12.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  early Saturday morning.
* Impact...At 11.5 feet...Water begins crossing the road several
  hundred feet to the left of the bridge. No towns or major roads are
  flooded.

* Flood stage is 52.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 54.1
  feet this afternoon.
* Impact...At 54.0 feet...Moderate flood stage. Flood problems begin,
  agricultural land and meadows affected.
