Flood Advisory

559 PM CDT SAT MAY 23 2015

...The Flood Advisory continues for the South Platte River...

South Platte River at North Platte affecting Lincoln County

.Rain continues to fall upstream on the South Platte River and
Colorado water management officials are releasing water from
several reservoirs in anticipation of heavy snow melt from the
mountains in June.

Additional rainfall chances next week and above normal late
season snow pack in the upper reaches of the river basin will
promote elevated flows along the South Platte River in southwest
Nebraska for the foreseeable future.

Safety Message. Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water
covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your
car to cross safely and the road beneath may not be intact. Vehicles
caught in rising waters should be abandoned quickly.

Safety Message. Stay tuned for further developments by listening to
NOAA Weather Radio, radio and television stations or online at
