* FLOOD WARNING FOR URBAN AREAS AND SMALL STREAMS IN...
  NORTHEASTERN HALL COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA...
  SOUTHWESTERN MERRICK COUNTY IN CENTRAL NEBRASKA...

* UNTIL 1115 AM CDT TUESDAY

* AT 1114 PM CDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED FLOODING
  OF UNDERPASSES ON SOME STREETS FROM PREVIOUS THUNDERSTORMS.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
  GRAND ISLAND...ALDA AND CHAPMAN.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Nebraska...

  North Platte River near Lisco affecting Garden County.

  North Platte River at Lewellen affecting Garden and Keith
  Counties.

  North Platte River near North Platte affecting Lincoln County.

.Minor to moderate flooding is forecast to continue along the North
Platte River...upstream and downstream of Lake McConaughy. The
flooding is due to increased releases from reservoirs in Wyoming and
from Lake McConaughy in preparation for spring snow melt in the
Rocky Mountain region.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway.
The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely
and the road beneath may not be intact. Vehicles caught in rising
waters should be abandoned quickly.

Do not let children play near the river during high water.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The North Platte River near North Platte.
* until further notice.
* At 10:00 PM Monday the stage was 6.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 6.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 6.4 feet by
  tomorrow early afternoon then begin falling.
* Impact...At 6.5 feet...Moderate and more widespread flooding of low
  lying and agricultural land begins along the north bank of the
  North Platte River from Highway 83 to approximately 4 miles west of
  Highway 83 south of North River Road. Water encroachment into some
  residences property begins along and south of North River Road.
  Water encroachment into low lying areas of Cody Park worsens.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Nebraska...

  Platte River at Brady North Channel affecting Lincoln County.

  North Platte River near Lisco affecting Garden County.

  North Platte River at Lewellen affecting Garden and Keith
  Counties.

  North Platte River near North Platte affecting Lincoln County.

.Slight rises on the North and South Platte Rivers to keep the main
channel of the Platte River near Brady at minor flood stage. Minor
to moderate flooding is expected to continue along the North Platte River.
The elevated flows are due to recent heavy rain and upstream snow melt
in the headwaters of the South Platte River along with increased water
releases from reservoirs along the North Platte River system due to recent
rainfall and increased runoff.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway.
The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely
and the road beneath may not be intact. Vehicles caught in rising
waters should be abandoned quickly.

* Flood stage is 7.5 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected remain around flood stage this
  afternoon.
* Impact...At 7.5 feet...Flood Stage. Minor flooding along and near
  the Platte River.
