LOWER MICHIGAN...

  MUSKEGON RIVER AT EVART AFFECTING OSCEOLA COUNTY

.THE MUSKEGON RIVER AT EVART WILL FALL BELOW MAJOR FLOOD STAGE
EARLY TOMORROW MORNING. MODERATE FLOODING WILL PERSIST...BUT
THE RIVER CONTINUES A STEADY DECLINE. MAINLY DRY WEATHER IS EXPECTED
OVER THE WEEKEND WITH A CHANCE OF SHOWERS ON MONDAY. THE FOLLOWING
FORECAST IS BASED ON OBSERVED AND FORECAST 24 HOUR PRECIPITATION.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE AROUND

* IMPACT...AT 14.0 FEET...EXPECT MAJOR FLOODING IN SUBDIVISIONS ALONG
  THE MUSKEGON RIVER UPSTREAM OF EVART.

STAGE. MINOR FLOODING WILL CONTINUE...BUT THE RIVER CONTINUES TO
FALL. MAINLY DRY WEATHER IS EXPECTED OVER THE WEEKEND WITH A
CHANCE OF SHOWERS ON MONDAY. THE FOLLOWING FORECAST IS BASED ON
OBSERVED AND FORECAST 24 HOUR PRECIPITATION.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...EVEN 6 INCHES OF FAST-MOVING FLOOD WATER CAN KNOCK
YOU OFF YOUR FEET... AND A DEPTH OF 2 FEET WILL FLOAT YOUR CAR.
NEVER TRY TO WALK... SWIM... OR DRIVE THROUGH SUCH SWIFT WATER.  IF
YOU COME UPON FLOOD WATERS... STOP... TURN AROUND AND GO ANOTHER WAY.

  HOMES UPSTREAM OF NEWAYGO ON SALMON RUN AND RUSSELL ROAD IN CROTON
  TOWNSHIP...THE DEVILS HOLE AREA...AND GARDNER DRIVE IN BROOKS
  TOWNSHIP.  EXPECT MODERATE FLOODING OF COTTAGES AND HOMES
  DOWNSTREAM OF NEWAYGO IN THE ANDERSON FLATS AREA...SUGAR BUSH LANE
  AND MAPLE DRIVE...BELL MEADOW DRIVE...AND THE LOWER BRIDGETON
  AREA.  EXPECT WATER TO BE OVER SOUTH RIVER DRIVE IN THE LOWER
  BRIDGETON AREA.  RIVER LANE IMPASSABLE IN THE OLD WOMANS BEND AREA.

  CROTON HEIGHTS...LILLEY...OXBOW...VOLNEY AND WOOSTER.
