...WET WEATHER IS EXPECTED OVER THE MARIANAS THIS WEEK...

A WET WEATHER PATTERN IS SETTING UP FOR MUCH OF NEXT WEEK. THE
MONSOON TROUGH HAS ALREADY MOVED NORTHWARD OVER THE MARIANAS. THE
TROUGH WILL REMAIN IN PLACE THROUGH AT LEAST MID WEEK AND SERVE AS A
FOCUS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF HEAVY RAINFALL. MONSOON WINDS ON THE
SOUTH SIDE OF THE TROUGH WILL CONVEY VERY MOIST AIR OVER THE
MARIANAS.

A TROPICAL DISTURBANCE CURRENTLY IN THE VICINITY OF POHNPEI COULD
BRING EVEN MORE HEAVY RAINFALL AROUND MID WEEK...BUT CONSIDERABLE
UNCERTAINTY EXISTS REGARDING THE FUTURE TRACK AND EVOLUTION OF THE
DISTURBANCE.

RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE THIS WEEKEND. AN
ADDITIONAL 3 TO 6 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE BY THE END OF NEXT WEEK.

THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY RAINFALL AND FLOODING WILL BE CLOSELY
MONITORED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.
