* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...1 TO 3 INCHES ABOVE 4000 FEET. LOCALLY 4 TO
  6 INCHES POSSIBLE NEAR THE CREST.

* TIMING...SNOW DEVELOPING LATE THIS AFTERNOON BECOMING MORE
  WIDESPREAD TONIGHT AND SATURDAY BEFORE TAPERING OFF SATURDAY
  NIGHT.

* IMPACTS...VISITORS AND OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS TO YOSEMITE
  NATIONAL PARK...SEQUOIA AND KINGS CANYON NATIONAL PARKS...
  DEVILS POSTPILE NATIONAL MONUMENT AS WELL AS THE SIERRA
  NATIONAL FOREST...SEQUOIA NATIONAL FOREST AND MOUNTAIN HOME
  STATE FOREST NEED TO PREPARE FOR SNOW AND MUCH COLDER
  TEMPERATURES. ROADS WILL BECOME SLICK AND ICY.

WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW FOR THE KERN COUNTY MOUNTAINS...WHICH
IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM SATURDAY TO 4 AM PST MONDAY.

* HAZARD TYPES...ACCUMULATING SNOW AT ELEVATIONS ABOVE 4000 FEET.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...1 TO 2 INCHES.

* TIMING...SHOWERS WILL DEVELOP OVER THE KERN COUNTY MOUNTAINS
  TONIGHT AND SATURDAY AND CONTINUE THROUGH MONDAY MORNING. SNOW
  LEVELS WILL LOWER TO NEAR 5000 FEET SATURDAY MORNING...THEN
  LOWER TO NEAR 4000 FEET BY LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

* IMPACTS...PEOPLE TRAVELING OVER INTERSTATE 5 OR HIGHWAY 58
  SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR SLICK ROADS AND POSSIBLE TRAVEL DELAYS
  SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT.

...WINTER WEATHER THIS WEEKEND WITH LOW SNOW LEVELS IMPACTING
MOUNTAIN PASSES...

.A COLD LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA LATE TONIGHT
AND PERSIST INTO MONDAY MORNING. PRECIPITATION WILL INCREASE EARLY
SATURDAY ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS WILL SNOW LEVELS FALLING TO 5000
FEET DURING THE DAY...THEN LOWERING TO 4000 FEET ON SUNDAY. SNOW
TOTALS WILL BE QUITE VARIABLE DUE TO THE SHOWERY NATURE OF THIS
SYSTEM BUT HEAVY SHOWERS ARE POSSIBLE SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY
NIGHT. SNOW LEVELS COULD BRIEFLY DROP TO 3500 FEET IN HEAVIER
SHOWER ACTIVITY ON SUNDAY.

PEOPLE PLANNING TRAVEL INTO OR THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS NEED TO BE
AWARE OF THE POTENTIAL FOR DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS AND SHOULD
CHECK ROAD CONDITIONS FOR THE LATEST TRAVEL CONDITIONS.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN
EFFECT FROM 4 PM SATURDAY TO 4 AM PST MONDAY. THE WINTER STORM
WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* ACCUMULATIONS...TOTAL SNOW AMOUNTS OF 6-12 INCHES ARE LIKELY TO
  OCCUR IN THE MOUNTAINS ABOVE 7000 FEET...4-8 INCHES FROM 5000
  TO 7000 FEET WITH 2-5 INCHES DOWN TO 5000 FEET. BRIEF
  ACCUMULATIONS LESS THAN 1 INCH WILL BE POSSIBLE DOWN TO 4000
  FEET MAINLY SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT.

* LOCATIONS...THE MOUNTAINS OF LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTIES.

* HAZARD TYPES...SNOW...BLOWING SNOW...AND POOR VISIBILITIES.

* TIMING AND SNOW LEVELS...SNOW SHOWERS ARE LIKELY TO INCREASE ON
  SATURDAY WITH THE SNOW LEVEL LOWERING TO 5000 FEET. THEN ON
  SUNDAY THE SNOW LEVEL WILL CONTINUE TO LOWER TO 4000 FEET. THE
  HEAVIEST PERIOD OF SNOW MAY OCCUR SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY
  NIGHT. SNOW SHOWERS WILL DECREASE AND BECOME SCATTERED BY MONDAY
  MORNING.

* IMPACTS...SNOW COULD AFFECT TRAVEL ON THE HIGHER MOUNTAIN PASSES
  AND IF ATTEMPTING TO REACH SKI RESORTS. HIGHWAY 33 IN THE
  VENTURA COUNTY MOUNTAINS AND ROADS IN THE ANGELES NATIONAL
  FOREST MAY REQUIRE CHAINS THIS WEEKEND.

BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND
