...MIXED WINTRY PRECIPITATION EXPECTED SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY
MORNING...

A MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN FALLING ACROSS THE
SOUTHERN CUMBERLAND PLATEAU...THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN TENNESSEE
VALLEY...AND SOUTHWEST NORTH CAROLINA BEGINNING SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
THE MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THIS AREA THROUGH THE
EVENING. AFTER MIDNIGHT ON SUNDAY NIGHT...WARM AIR ABOVE THE
SURFACE WILL MOVE IN...WHICH WILL LIKELY PRODUCE A MIX OF
RAIN...SNOW...AND SLEET...WITH PATCHY FREEZING RAIN POSSIBLE IN
SOME LOCATIONS. THE MIXED PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO CHANGE OVER
TO ALL RAIN THROUGH MONDAY MORNING.

AT THIS TIME...THE GREATER KNOXVILLE AREA...SOUTHERN CUMBERLAND
PLATEAU...AND HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF SOUTHWEST NORTH CAROLINA COULD
SEE UP TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATION...WITH A LIGHT
GLAZE OF ICE POSSIBLE IN SOME LOCATIONS. THE CHATTANOOGA AREA IS
EXPECTED TO SEE LITTLE TO NO SNOW OR ICE ACCUMULATION AS
TEMPERATURES AT THE GROUND SHOULD REMAIN AT OR ABOVE FREEZING.
HOWEVER...SLIGHT CHANGES IN THE DURATION AND TIMING OF EACH TYPE OF
PRECIPITATION WILL GREATLY IMPACT THE ACCUMULATION AMOUNTS.

ANY ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW OR OTHER WINTRY PRECIPITATION ARE
EXPECTED TO BE LIGHT. HOWEVER...DRIVING AND WALKING MAY BE
DIFFICULT ON SOME ROADWAYS AND SIDEWALKS. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY
ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...SLOW DOWN AND
ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION.
