...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT SATURDAY...

* TEMPERATURE...High temperatures will reach the lower to middle
  90s through Saturday.

* HEAT INDEX...With dewpoints rising well into the 70s,
afternoon heat index readings will peak from 100 to 105
  degrees each day.

* IMPACTS...The effects of heat are cumulative, and worsen the
longer a heat wave lasts. People without access to air
conditioning, or those that are working or playing outdoors,
are most likely to be impacted by the heat. Heat exhaustion or
heat stroke are possible if work or play is too strenuous.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of heat and high humidity will create a
situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of
fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and
check up on relatives and neighbors.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in
vehicles under any circumstances. This is especially true during
hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a
matter of minutes.

URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Quad Cities IA IL
323 AM CDT Fri Jul 21 2017

...Extended Period of Dangerous Heat and Humidity Continues...

.A hot and humid air mass will remain over much of the area
through Saturday. The heat combined with the humidity will
continue to push peak heat index values over 100 degrees. At
night, heat indices will remain at or above 75 providing little
relief. The cumulative effects of consecutive days with heat
indices over 100 will increase the risk for heat related
illnesses for those spending time outside or without access to
air conditioning.

80s to lower 90s...and dewpoints in the lower to middle 70s.

for people spending time outside or living without air
conditioning. Children and the elderly are most susceptible.
Also, parked vehicles will become dangerously hot within

A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures and high
humidity is expected. This combination will lead to possible
heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-
conditioned room, stay out of the sun...and check on relatives
and neighbors, especially the elderly.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

To reduce risk during outdoor work the occupational safety and
