PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

All persons with interest along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts...And be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property. Do not drive cars through flooded areas. If you
see flood waters...Remember to turn around and do not drown.

* At  9:45 PM Monday the stage was 13.2 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  early Thursday morning.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet...Warner Landing, Louis Landing and secondary
  roads around KOA campgrounds begin to flood.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Altamaha River At Charlotte.
* from Tuesday afternoon to Saturday afternoon...Or until the warning
  is cancelled.
* At  9:45 PM Monday the stage was 14.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow early afternoon and
  continue to rise to near 15.7 feet by Thursday early afternoon.the
  river will fall below flood stage by Saturday morning.
* Impact...At 14.0 feet...Minor flooding continues in the woodlands
  along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on the U.S.
  Highway 221 bridge. The water covers the low portion and entrance
  of Towns Bluff Lane by the bridge. The public boat ramp is under
  two feet of water. Flood waters expand further into south
  Montgomery County around 1.5 miles upstream from the gage. The
  water will be one to two feet deep over portions of Three Rivers
  Lane, Altamaha River Road and Ogle Sandbar Road.
* Impact...At 13.0 feet...Minor flooding occurs in the woodlands along
  the river upstream and downstream from the gage on the U.S. Highway
  221 bridge. The water reaches the top of the public boat ramp by
  the bridge. Flood waters expand in low lying areas in south
  Montgomery County around 1.5 miles upstream from the gage. The
  water will begin to cover portions of Three Rivers land, Altamaha
  River Road and Ogle Sandbar Road.
* Impact...At 11.0 feet...Bankfull conditions occur along the river
  upstream and downstream from the gage on the U.S. Highway 221
  bridge. Some flooding begins in low lying areas around 1.5 miles
  upstream from the gage in south Montgomery County. The water will
  approach portions of Three Rivers Lane, Altamaha River Road and
  Ogle Sandbar Road.

* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 74.5 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 77.4 feet by
  Thursday early afternoon then begin falling.
* Impact...At 74.5 feet...Minor flooding of timber and agricultural
  land can be expected.

* from Thursday afternoon until further notice...Or until the warning
  is cancelled.
* At  9:15 PM Monday the stage was 11.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Thursday early afternoon and
  continue to rise to near 12.7 feet by Saturday evening. additional
  rises are possible thereafter.
* Impact...At 12.0 feet...Agricultural and timber lands flooded. Water
  begins to encroach upon Altamaha Park.
* Impact...At 10.0 feet...River begins coming out of channel banks
  inundating low lying bottomlands.

* Until Tuesday afternoon.
* At  8:15 PM Monday the stage was 15.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Forecast: The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  tomorrow morning.
* Impact: At 15.0 feet: Minor lowland flooding begins. This level is
  the top of the bank at the marina.

* At 245 PM Monday the stage was 12.8 feet...and  slowly falling.
* Minor flooding is occurring...and minor flooding is forecast to
  continue.
* Flood stage is 12 feet.
* The river will continue to fall...dropping below flood stage by
  Wednesday evening.
* Between 12 and 13 feet...minor flooding of lowlands adjacent to the
  river continues...including minor flooding of the nearby park and
  parking lot at the Abbeville boat ramp.
