...SCATTERED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY THIS EVENING...

WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS FAR NORTHERN
ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST ILLINOIS INTO EARLY THIS EVENING. SOME OF
THE THUNDERSTORMS WILL PRODUCE HAIL...GENERALLY PEA TO DIME
SIZED...THOUGH VERY ISOLATED STORMS COULD BRIEFLY BECOME SEVERE
AND PRODUCE HAIL UP TO THE SIZE OF QUARTERS IN VERY ISOLATED
LOCATIONS.

IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES SEEK SHELTER INDOORS AND LISTEN
FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

...FUNNEL CLOUDS POSSIBLE EARLY THIS EVENING...

THE ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF
FUNNEL CLOUDS. THESE FUNNEL CLOUDS CAN PROTRUDE A FEW HUNDRED
FEET DOWNWARD FROM THE PARENT CLOUD...ROTATE OR SPIN LIKE A
TOP...AND LAST A FEW MINUTES BEFORE DISSIPATING.

THESE FUNNEL CLOUDS RARELY TOUCH THE GROUND AND ARE NOT EXPECTED
TO POST A SIGNIFICANT  HAZARD. THE ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS THESE
FUNNELS ARE DEVELOPING IN DO NOT SUPPORT STRONG...DAMAGING
TORNADOES. HOWEVER...ON EXTREMELY RARE OCCASIONS THESE FUNNELS
CAN BRIEFLY TOUCH THE GROUND AND PRODUCE VERY MINIMAL...IF ANY
DAMAGE.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILL CONTINUE TO CLOSELY MONITOR THE
SITUATION. PLEASE FORWARD REPORTS OF FUNNEL SIGHTINGS TO THE
NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY FOR RELAY TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE.

EVENING...

AT 710 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS RAPIDLY DEVELOPING ALONG THE MISSISSIPPI
RIVER MAINLY EAST AND SOUTH THE QUAD CITIES. THESE STORMS MAY
BRIEFLY PRODUCE SMALL HAIL...VERY HEAVY DOWNPOURS AND WIND GUSTS UP
TO 30 MPH AS THEY AFFECT THE QUAD CITIES 7 AND 8 PM.

HEAVY RAINFALL MAY CAUSE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING. THESE
STORMS WILL PRODUCE DEADLY LIGHTNING. IF YOU HEAR THUNDER...MOVE
IMMEDIATELY TO A STURDY BUILDING OR CAR UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED.

AT 15 MPH. THE STATE PATROL REPORTED PEA TO MARBLE SIZE HAIL SOUTH
OF JANESVILLE ON INTERSTATE 90.

WINDS IN EXCESS OF 30 MPH AND HALF INCH HAIL ARE POSSIBLE WITH THIS
STORM.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
BELOIT...CLINTON...TIFFANY AND SHOPIERE.

TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IS ALSO OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM...AND MAY CAUSE

STRONG THUNDERSTORM 5 MILES SOUTH OF FAIRVIEW...OR 9 MILES WEST OF
CANTON...MOVING SOUTHWEST AT 5 MPH.

PENNY SIZE HAIL...AND WINDS AROUND 50 MPH ARE EXPECTED WITH THIS
STORM. VERY HEAVY RAIN OF 1 TO 2 INCHES WILL OCCUR IN SOME AREAS IN
A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME.

PEOPLE IN FULTON COUNTY...INCLUDING THE CITY OF CUBA...SHOULD MONITOR
THE WEATHER SITUATION CLOSELY. LISTEN FOR POSSIBLE WARNINGS...AND BE
