...ELEVATED SURF AND STRONG RIP CURRENTS THROUGH THE WEEKEND...

.A MIXED LONG PERIOD SWELL FROM THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE AND WEST-
NORTHWEST SWELL WILL MOVE INTO THE COASTAL WATERS THROUGH
SATURDAY NIGHT. BEACHGOERS SHOULD EXPECTED ELEVATED SURF AND
STRONG RIP CURRENTS THROUGH THE WEEKEND. RIP CURRENTS WILL LIKELY
BE MORE FREQUENT AND STRONGER THAN USUAL...AND THERE WILL BE
LOCAL LONG-SHORE CURRENTS AS WELL. THERE WILL BE LONG LULLS
BETWEEN THE LARGER WAVES AND BEACHGOERS SHOULD AVOID WALKING ON
ROCKS OR JETTIES NEAR THE WATERS EDGE AND NEVER TURN YOUR BACK ON
THE OCEAN.

  BUILD TO 3 TO 5 FEET ALONG EXPOSED WEST FACING SHORES TONIGHT
  THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT WHILE SURF ALONG EXPOSED SOUTHWEST SHORES
  RANGES FROM 2 TO 4 FEET OCCASIONAL 5 FEET. FREQUENT STRONG RIP
  CURRENTS...STRONG LONG- SHORE CURRENTS ARE LIKELY THIS WEEKEND.

* TIDES...THE LOWER HIGH TIDE IS EXPECTED TO OCCUR EACH EVENING
  WITH THE HIGHER HIGH TIDE OCCURRING EACH EARLY MORNING THROUGH
  SUNDAY.

* IMPACTS...ELEVATED SURF WILL BRING STRONG RIP CURRENTS AND
  LONG-SHORE CURRENTS TO AREA BEACHES...ALONG WITH A RISK OF
  SNEAKER WAVES. LONG PERIOD SWELL ALSO CAUSES MORE POWERFUL
  SURF AND A POTENTIAL FOR MINOR BEACH EROSION DURING TIMES OF
  HIGH TIDE.
