133 AM PST SAT DEC 20 2014

...HIGH ASTRONOMICAL TIDES AND ELEVATED SURF TO CREATE STRONG RIP
CURRENTS AND MINOR TIDAL OVERFLOW...

.A LONG PERIOD WEST-NORTHWEST SWELL WILL GENERATE ELEVATED SURF
ALONG EXPOSED WEST FACING BEACHES IN SAN DIEGO AND ORANGE
COUNTIES THIS WEEKEND THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK. ASTRONOMICAL HIGH
TIDES ABOVE 7 FEET EACH MORNING...COMBINED WITH THE ELEVATED
SURF...MAY CAUSE MINOR TIDAL OVERFLOW IN LOW-LYING BEACH AREAS.
STRONG RIP CURRENTS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE THROUGH THE PERIOD.
CONDITIONS WILL IMPROVE BY THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.

...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY
MORNING...

* SURF...4 TO 7 FEET AT EXPOSED WEST-FACING BEACHES LATE TODAY
  THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY. ISOLATED SETS TO 8 FEET POSSIBLE BETWEEN
  LA JOLLA AND POINT LOMA. 3 TO 5 FEET ELSEWHERE.

* LOCATIONS...HIGHEST SURF ALONG EXPOSED WEST-FACING BEACHES...
  ESPECIALLY NORTH OF NEWPORT BEACH IN ORANGE COUNTY AND SOUTH
  OF DEL MAR IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY.

* TIMING...SURF BUILDING TODAY AND PEAKING TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY
  MORNING...THEN SLOWLY LOWERING SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
  TUESDAY. MINOR TIDAL OVERFLOW SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY MORNINGS.
  STRONG RIP CURRENTS TODAY THROUGH TUESDAY.

* TIDES...HIGH TIDES AROUND 7 FEET BETWEEN ABOUT 7 AM AND 9 AM EACH
  DAY.

* IMPACTS...ELEVATED SURF AND STRONG RIP CURRENTS WILL RESULT IN
  DANGEROUS SWIMMING CONDITIONS. MINOR FLOODING OF LOW-LYING
  AREAS ALONG THE BEACH IS POSSIBLE...INCLUDING BEACH PARKING
  LOTS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IS ISSUED WHEN THREATS SUCH AS STRONG
RIP CURRENTS...ELEVATED SURF HEIGHTS...MINOR TIDAL OVERFLOW...OR
LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE AT LOCAL BEACHES. OBEY POSTED WARNING
SIGNS AND FLAGS AND TALK TO A LIFEGUARD BEFORE SWIMMING. USE
CAUTION WHEN IN OR NEAR THE WATER AND ALWAYS SWIM NEAR A
LIFEGUARD.
