RIVER FLOOD STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHARLESTON  WV
929 PM EST THU MAR 5 2015

...The flood warning continues for the following rivers...Coal River...Tug Fork
River...Tygart Valley River...Buckhannon River.
  At Tornado...
  At Kermit...
  At Belington...
  At Philippi...
  Near Buckhannon...

Affecting the following counties in Kentucky...Lawrence...Martin and in West
Virginia...Barbour...Boone...Kanawha...Lincoln...Mingo...Upshur...Wayne.

...The flood warning continues for the following rivers...Guyandotte River...
Ohio River...Tug Fork River.
  At Branchland...
  At Point Pleasant...
  At Huntington...
  At Ashland...
  At Greenup Lock...
  At Williamson...

Affecting the following counties in Kentucky...Boyd...Greenup...Martin...Pike
and in Ohio...Gallia...Lawrence...Scioto and in West Virginia...Cabell...
Lincoln...Mason...Mingo...Wayne.

Flows and runoff from previous rains will continue to slow this evening.  Most
rivers have crested or will crest this afternoon and start a slow fall
tonight...except for the Ohio River...which will continue to rise through
tonight and into Friday.

Backwater flooding can be expected along the rivers until they start to
recede and fall below flood stage.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around and don`t drown.  Do not drive into areas where
water is flowing over the roadway.  Most deaths occur when motorists
try crossing flooded roads.

Please report high water to the National Weather Service by
calling toll free...1-800-401-9535...when you can do so safely.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Tygart Valley River At Belington.
* AT  6:30 PM Thursday the stage WAS 16.3 feet.
* Minor Flooding is occurring and Minor Flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Forecast...the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by after
  midnight .
* At stages near 17.0 feet...Flooding of the streets of Belington due to storm
  sewers backing up. Many low lying areas are flooded.

* AT  7:00 PM Thursday the stage WAS 19.9 feet.
* Minor Flooding is occurring.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* Forecast...the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by tonight.
* At stages near 19.0 feet...The intersection of Routes 119 and Truck 250 is
  flooded. Also, Sycamore Street and Beech Avenue are flooded.

The River Flood Warning continues for,
  The Monongahela River Near Charleroi.
* Until late tonight, or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  7:00 PM Thursday the stage was 29.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 28.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  tonight.
* Impact...At 30.0 feet, Backwater flooding along Pigeon Creek in
  Monongahela, begins to flood the lowest building in Penos Plaza,
  Armstrong Park, and closes Wall Street Bridge across Pigeon Creek.
