This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited lightning risk.
  Limited excessive rainfall risk

DISCUSSION...

Some scattered showers and thunderstorms are currently located
over portions of the eastern Ozarks. These storms will continue
producing lightning and heavy rainfall before pushing out of the
area within the next couple of hours.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Temperatures gradually increase into the low to mid 90s through
the weekend, with maximum heat index values up to 100 to 105
degrees. By the middle of next week, high temperatures in the mid
to upper 90s are possible, along with maximum heat index values
up to around 100-110 degrees. An Extreme Heat Warning is in
effect from 12 PM Saturday until 7 PM Wednesday.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southern Illinois, southwest
Indiana, western Kentucky and southeast Missouri.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected through late tonight.
All storms will be capable of producing brief torrential rainfall
and lightning. Localized flash flooding is possible. A brief strong
storm with gusty winds cannot be ruled out.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected through Tuesday.
All storms will be capable of producing brief torrential rainfall
and lightning. Localized flash flooding is possible.

A dangerous prolonged heatwave will build this weekend and
continue through most of next week. Daily heat indices of 105 to
115 are expected, potentially exceeding 120 by the middle of the
week.

This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.

.DAY ONE...This Evening and Tonight.

THUNDERSTORMS WITH DANGEROUS LIGHTNING.
RISK...Limited.
AREA...Far northeast Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas.
ONSET...Ongoing.

DANGEROUS HEAT.
RISK...Elevated.
AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and West-Central Arkansas.
ONSET...Ongoing.

DISCUSSION...
A couple isolated showers or thunderstorms remain possible across
portions of far northwest Arkansas through early evening. Brief
heavy rain will be possible, but severe thunderstorms and
additional flooding are not expected if any storms do develop.

Dangerous heat will persist through early this evening, with heat
index values between 100 and 109 degrees across most of eastern
Oklahoma and also much of west-central Arkansas. A Heat Advisory
is in effect for all of southeast Oklahoma, portions of northeast
Oklahoma, and west central Arkansas through 8 PM this evening.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
A prolonged period of hot, humid, and dry weather is forecast for
this weekend through much of next week. Afternoon heat index
values of 100 to 110 degrees will be common across all eastern
Oklahoma and much of northwest Arkansas. The numerous days of hot
and humid conditions along with warm overnight low temperatures
will raise the heat stress risk across the region. Daily heat
headlines are likely.
