301 AM CST THU MAR 5 2015

...WINTER STORM TO CAUSE DETERIORATING CONDITIONS ACROSS THE
ARKLAMISS REGION EARLY THIS MORNING...

AT 3 AM NUMEROUS AREAS OF SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN WERE OCCURRING
ACROSS SOUTHEAST ARKANSAS...NORTHEAST LOUISIANA AND NORTHWEST
MISSISSIPPI...GENERALLY ALONG AND NORTHWEST OF A LINE FROM WINNSBORO
LOUISIANA...TO YAZOO CITY...TO KILMICHAEL. ROAD CONDITIONS WERE
DETERIORATING ACROSS THIS AREA...PARTICULARLY IN SOUTHEAST
ARKANSAS...EXTREME NORTHEAST LOUISIANA...AND NORTHWEST AND NORTH
CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI WHERE TEMPERATURES HAD FALLEN TO THE 25 TO 30
DEGREE RANGE...AND ACCUMULATIONS OF SLEET AND ICE WERE BEING REPORTED
ON ROADS BY LAW ENFORCEMENT AND TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENTS.

WIDESPREAD WINTRY PRECIPITATION EXTENDED WELL TO THE WEST INTO
EASTERN TEXAS. THIS PRECIPITATION WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD ACROSS THE
ARKLAMISS REGION FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS. OCCASIONALLY HEAVY SLEET
AND FREEZING RAIN...ALONG WITH A FEW RUMBLES OF THUNDER...CAN BE
EXPECTED. THESE PERIODS OF HEAVY PRECIPITATION WILL CAUSE QUICK
ACCUMULATIONS OF SLEET AND ICE WHICH WILL FURTHER WORSEN ROAD
CONDITIONS AND POTENTIALLY CAUSE ICE ACCUMULATIONS ON TREES AND
POWERLINES...POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN POWER OUTAGES.

COLD AIR WILL CONTINUE TO PUSH SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE REGION THROUGH
THE EARLY MORNING HOURS...WITH THE FREEZING LINE EXPECTED TO REACH
ALONG A LINE FROM PORT GIBSON...TO CLINTON...TO COLUMBUS BY AROUND 6
AM. NORTHWEST OF THIS LINE...PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE TO FREEZING
RAIN AND SOME SLEET...AND ICING OF SOME ELEVATED SURFACES INCLUDING
BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES CAN BE EXPECTED.
