...POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY RAIN ACROSS SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE
MIDSOUTH WILL CONTINUE TODAY...

.AN UPPER LEVEL LOW DISTURBANCE OVER NORTHWEST ARKANSAS WILL DROP
INTO THE MIDSOUTH TODAY AND TONIGHT. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
WILL DEVELOP AND LIKELY INCREASE IN COVERAGE BY EARLY
AFTERNOON...ESPECIALLY OVER NORTH MISSISSIPPI. DUE TO SATURATED
SOILS FROM VERY HEAVY RAINFALL THAT OCCURRED YESTERDAY...ANY
ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAIN COULD PRODUCE RUNOFF SUFFICIENT TO FLOOD LOW
LYING AREAS. AN EXTENSION OF THE WATCH INTO LATER TONIGHT IS
POSSIBLE FOR NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI.
