....INCREASED RISK OF HAZARDOUS BEACH CONDITIONS ALONG WEST FACING
BEACHES ON SUNDAY...CORRECTED

A LONG PERIOD SWELL TRAIN GENERATED BY TYPHOON ATSANI WILL
GENERATE AN INCREASED RISK OF STRONG RIP CURRENTS ALONG WESTERLY
FACING BEACHES ON SUNDAY. SWELL PERIODS ARE FORECAST TO INCREASE
TO 18 TO 20 SECONDS ON SUNDAY. THE WAVES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS
SWELL TRAIN WILL BE 3 TO 5 FEET WITH AN OCCASIONAL 6 FOOT WAVE
MIXED IN.

ISOLATED RIP CURRENTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN WITNESSED ON AREAL WEBCAMS
WITH TODAYS 3 FOOT 15 SECOND SWELL... LEADING TO AN INCREASED
CONFIDENCE OF STRONGER RIP CURRENTS ON SUNDAY. WESTERLY SWELL
PERIODS ARE FORECAST TO DECREASE TO 15 SECONDS BY MONDAY MORNING.

  COUNTY. NORTHWEST FACING BEACHES WILL ALSO BE IMPACTED TO A
  LESSER DEGREE.

* TIMING... SUNDAY MORNING 6AM TO SUNDAY EVENING 9PM.

* IMPACTS... EXCEPTIONALLY STRONG RIP CURRENTS AND LARGE SHORE
  BREAKS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A BEACH HAZARD STATEMENT FOR RIP CURRENTS MEANS THAT CONDITIONS
ARE PRESENT TO SUPPORT A HEIGHTENED RISK OF STRONG RIP CURRENTS.
RIP CURRENTS ARE TYPICALLY MORE FREQUENT AND STRONGER IN THE
VICINITY OF JETTIES...INLETS...AND PIERS. SWIMMERS CAUGHT IN A
RIP CURRENT SHOULD SWIM PARALLEL TO THE COAST TO ESCAPE THE RIP
CURRENT BEFORE TRYING TO SWIM FOR SHORE. SWIMMERS SHOULD ALWAYS
SWIM NEAR A LIFEGUARD.
