THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN UPTON HAS ISSUED A COASTAL FLOOD
WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM TO 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING.
THE COASTAL FLOOD WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* LOCATIONS...ALONG THE SOUTHERN BAYS AND TIDAL STRAITS OF
  SOUTHERN NASSAU...QUEENS...AND BROOKLYN.

* TIDAL DEPARTURES...1 TO 1 1/2 FEET ABOVE ASTRONOMICAL TIDE
  HEIGHTS.

* TIMING...AROUND THE TIMES OF HIGH TIDE BETWEEN 7 AMD 11 PM.

* IMPACTS...WIDESPREAD FLOODING OF VULNERABLE SHORE ROADS AND/OR
  PROPERTIES DUE TO HEIGHT OF STORM TIDE AND/OR WAVE ACTION.
  NUMEROUS ROAD CLOSURES ARE NEEDED. LIVES MAY BE AT RISK FOR
  PEOPLE WHO PUT THEMSELVES IN HARM/S WAY. ISOLATED STRUCTURAL
  DAMAGE MAY BE OBSERVED. THIS TYPE OF EVENT IS COVERED BY A
  COASTAL FLOOD WARNING.

A COASTAL FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS EXPECTED OR

* COASTAL FLOODING...MODERATE TIDAL FLOODING IS EXPECTED NEAR
  THE FRIDAY EVENING HIGH TIDE. WIDESPREAD MINOR COASTAL
  FLOODING IS EXPECTED WITH THE HIGH TIDE THIS MORNING.

* TIMING...TODAY HIGH TIDE WILL OCCUR ON THE OCEANFRONT BETWEEN 7
  AND 9 AM EDT. THIS EVENING...THE HIGH TIDE IS EXPECTED ALONG
  THE OCEANFRONT BETWEEN 730 AND 930 PM EDT. HIGH TIDE ON THE BACK
  BAYS CAN OCCUR UP TO 5 HOURS LATER THAN HIGH TIDE ON THE
  OCEANFRONT.

* SURGE...NEAR 1.5 FEET ABOVE THE ASTRONOMICAL TIDE.

* WAVES...WAVE HEIGHTS ON THE OCEAN WATERS OFF THE COAST WILL BE
  5 TO 8 FEET. WAVE HEIGHTS ON DELAWARE BAY WILL BE 2 TO 4 FEET.

* IMPACTS...WIDESPREAD ROADWAY FLOODING IS LIKELY... ESPECIALLY
  THIS EVENING.

* OUTLOOK...MINOR TIDAL FLOODING MAY CONTINUE WITH THE HIGH TIDE
  CYCLES ON SATURDAY.
