This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited lightning risk.
  Limited non thunderstorm wind risk.

DISCUSSION...

A Wind Advisory is in effect until 3 PM this afternoon along the
Ozark Plateau and I-44 corridor. Wind gusts up to 25 to 40 mph can
be expected, with stray wind gusts above 45 mph possible,
especially between 8 AM and 1 PM.

Numerous showers will continue across the area through the
afternoon, and while we cannot rule out an isolated embedded
thunderstorm, lightning coverage is expected to be minimal.

Any snow that is mixed in with the rain east of Highway 63 will
transition to all rain after 8 AM this morning. No wintry impacts
are expected save for a brief period of potentially slushy roads.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Wind gusts will continue to be in the 25 to 30 mph range through
Sunday morning resulting in near single digit wind chills.

Another system will move towards the area Monday. There is
currently a 35 to 60 percent chance of precipitation. Any
precipitation that does occur would likely fall as light snow.

much of Eastern Oklahoma.

AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas.

DISCUSSION...
Strong and gusty winds are ongoing this morning and will continue
through much of the day with frequent gusts of 35 to 45 mph across
much of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. A strong cold
front will sweep through the region this afternoon and winds will
turn northerly and remain strong and gusty into Saturday night.
Isolated thunderstorms will remain possible ahead of the cold
front through late afternoon. Severe weather is not expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
SUNDAY...High Wind Potential.
MONDAY...Winter Weather Potential.
TUESDAY through FRIDAY...No Hazards.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Strong and gusty winds will continue into Sunday as strong cold
high pressure builds into the region. The next storm system
will bring a chance of light winter weather to the region Monday
through Monday night. A mixture of snow, sleet, and freezing
rain appears possible at this time. Any measurable amounts
are likely to remain light, however minor travel impacts could
develop and persist into early Tuesday. A slow warming
trend and dry weather is forecast from mid to late next week.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of Central Kansas,
South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Rain will mix with snow across portions of central Kansas this
morning. Little to no accumulation is expected at this time.

Northwest wind gusts will increase today with gusts of 45 to 50 mph
possible at times across much of the area. See latest wind advisory
for additional details.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Wind chills early Sunday morning will be in the single digits
across central Kansas.

A second weather system looks to bring the first snowfall of the
season to the region on Monday. Accumulating snowfall chances are
increasing, especially for central Kansas. Stay tuned for additional
updates.

south central Kansas, southwest Kansas, and west central Kansas.

Strong northerly winds sustained in the 25-35 mph range gusting to
45-50 mph will impact southwest KS today behind a cold front.
Winds will begin to weaken after sunset. Otherwise, wind chills in
the single digits to low teens are anticipated overnight into
early Sunday morning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Wind chills in the single digits to low teens are again expected
Sunday night into Monday morning. Light snow is probable daytime
Monday, but will carry no impacts as total accumulation will be
minimal at best.
