NORTHAMPTON...NORTHWESTERN HUNTERDON AND SOUTHERN WARREN COUNTIES...

AT 124 AM EDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED SOME LOCAL
ROADS HAVE FLOODED. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATES
OVER THREE INCHES OF RAIN HAVE FALLEN OVER MUCH OF THE WARNED AREA.
ADDITIONAL RAIN AMOUNTS UP TO ONE INCH ARE POSSIBLE.

LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO EAST
BANGOR...BELFAST...WASHINGTON...WIND GAP...TATAMY...PEN ARGYL...

CENTRAL MIDDLESEX AND NORTHERN SOMERSET COUNTIES...

AT 1242 AM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
THAT THE HEAVY RAIN HAD LEFT THE WARNED AREA. HOWEVER...WITH SOME
LOCATIONS RECEIVING OVER 3 INCHES OF RAIN...RUNOFF WILL BE SLOW TO
RECEDE AND DOWN STREAM LOCATIONS ALONG SMALL STREAMS...INCLUDING
MIDDLE BROOK MAY CONTINUE TO RISE OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS.
THEREFORE...THE WARNING CONTINUES THROUGH 330 AM EDT.

LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO FAR HILLS...
PEAPACK AND GLADSTONE AND BASKING RIDGE

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.

THE HEAVIEST RAIN HAD LEFT THE WARNED AREA. HOWEVER...PORTIONS OF
THE WARNED AREA HAD OVER 3 INCHES OF RAIN. THUS...RUNOFF WILL BE
SLOW TO RECEDE...SO THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES THROUGH 245
AM EDT.

LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO CRANDON
LAKES...BRANCHVILLE...SUSSEX...HAMBURG...HAINESVILLE AND PELLETTOWN

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE
UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS
SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
