...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* HEAT INDEX VALUES...will range up to 107 degrees this
  afternoon.

* TIMING... Heat index values will climb above 100 degrees early
this afternoon and reach 105 to 109 degrees for a couple of
  hours this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...The heat and humidity may cause heat stress during
outdoor exertion or extended exposure. With multiple days of high
heat and humidity and with temperatures not cooling below 80 at
night, this is a potentially very dangerous heat event.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take extra precautions...if you work or spend time outside. When
possible...reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible
and drink plenty of water. Fans are essential to move the air for
those without air conditioning.

Children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles.
Car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of
minutes. Bring pets indoors if possible, even if for just short
periods of time; and ensure they have access to drinking water,
which can evaporate from dishes very quickly in extreme heat.
