URGENT - MARINE WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEWPORT/MOREHEAD CITY NC
209 AM EST SAT FEB 25 2017

...ROUGH SEAS CONTINUE THIS WEEKEND WITH GUSTY WINDS EXPECTED
LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...

.SOUTHEAST SWELLS PRODUCED BY LOW PRESSURE WELL OFF THE COAST WILL
CONTINUE TO PRODUCE SEAS OF 4 TO 7 FEET TODAY. WINDS WILL BECOME
SOUTHWEST AND INCREASE TO 15 TO 25 KNOTS THIS AFTERNOON AHEAD OF A
COLD FRONT,MAINTAINING ELEVATED SEAS. WINDS WILL SHIFT TO
NORTHWEST 20 TO 30 KNOTS THIS EVENING BEHIND THE FRONT THEN
DIMINISH TO 10 TO 15 KNOTS SUNDAY AFTERNOON ALLOWING SEAS TO
SUBSIDE BELOW 6 FEET AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS OVER THE WATERS FROM
THE WEST.

* SEAS...5 TO 8 FEET.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY MEANS THAT WIND SPEEDS OF 25 TO 33 KNOTS
AND/OR SEAS OF 6 FEET OR GREATER ARE EXPECTED TO PRODUCE
HAZARDOUS WAVE CONDITIONS TO SMALL CRAFT. INEXPERIENCED
MARINERS...ESPECIALLY THOSE OPERATING SMALLER VESSELS SHOULD
AVOID NAVIGATING IN THESE CONDITIONS.
