UNTIL 130 PM MDT TUESDAY...

AT 947 PM MDT...EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT REPORTED THAT FLOODING WAS
OCCURRING ALONG THE POWDER RIVER IN THE WARNED AREA.  THE POWDER
RIVER AT SUSSEX REACHED A RECORD CREST OF 15.63 FEET AT 6 AM MONDAY.
THE FLOOD WATERS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE NORTH FLOODING FIELDS ALONG
THE POWDER RIVER THROUGH TUESDAY.  THE MAIN FLOOD WAVE IS EXPECTED
TO REACH THE BRIDGE AT INTERSTATE 90 BETWEEN 6 AM AND NOON TUESDAY.
PARTS OF INTERSTATE 90 MAY BE FLOODED AT THE POWDER RIVER BRIDGE ON
TUESDAY.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...I90 EXIT 88...
I90 EXIT 91 AND POWDER RIVER REST AREA.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY. DO NOT
ENTER THE WATER. TURN AROUND AND MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND. DO NOT
STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY.

REPORT FLOODING TO THE NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY SO THAT THEY

  HERMOSA.

LITTLE ADDITIONAL RAINFALL IS EXPECTED FOR THE WARNED
AREA.

THE REPORTING GAGE NEAR HERMOSA READ 8.5 FEET AT 810 PM MDT AND WAS
FALLING. THE GAGE SITE NORTH OF RED SHIRT ON BATTLE CREEK WAS RISING
QUICKLY AND WILL LIKELY REACH FLOOD STAGE OVERNIGHT.

SIGNIFICANT FLOODING IS EXPECTED ON THE POWDER RIVER IN
SOUTHEASTERN SHERIDAN COUNTY...INCLUDING AT ARVADA...FROM LATE
TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY. THE RIVER IS EXPECTED TO GET HIGHER THAN
IT HAS AT ANY POINT SINCE THE LATE 1970S. THE POWDER RIVER NEAR
ARVADA WILL LIKELY RISE TO A CREST BETWEEN 12 AND 14 FEET BY
TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THE RECORD RIVER LEVEL AT ARVADA IS
16.90 FEET...SET IN 1978.

EXPECT THE RIVER CHANNEL TO FILL WITH WATER AND SPILL OUT OF ITS
BANKS IN PLACES...FLOODING FARMLAND AND POSSIBLY CAUSING PROPERTY
DAMAGE.

THIS FLOODING IS BEING CAUSED BY HEAVY RAIN THAT FELL UPSTREAM OVER
CENTRAL WYOMING THIS PAST WEEKEND.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOVE CATTLE AND FARM EQUIPMENT TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY. PREPARE
FOR RAPIDLY RISING WATER AND FLOODING NEAR THE POWDER RIVER. DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL ACROSS FLOODED ROADS. FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES.

  WEDNESDAY...WITH A CREST AT MOORHEAD BETWEEN 10 AND 12 FEET ON
  WEDNESDAY. HIGH WATER WILL TRAVEL DOWNSTREAM TO THE BROADUS AND
  POWDERVILLE AREAS BY MID TO LATE WEEK. THE RIVER IS EXPECTED TO
  GET HIGHER THAN IT HAS IN MANY YEARS.

* ROADS...PASTURES...AND FARMLAND ALONG THE POWDER RIVER WILL BE
  FLOODED. PROPERTY DAMAGE IS POSSIBLE.
