.Gusty winds and low humidity this afternoon and into the evening
will result in red flag conditions. Sustained south to southwest
winds will increase during the day, reaching 15 to 20 mph at
times. Combined with relative humidity bottoming out at 20 to 25
percent in most places, this will lead to a potential for
dangerous fire behavior lasting into the evening.

The pressure gradient will increase today ahead of a low pressure
system that tracks through the Ohio Valley overnight. As a result
the winds will become strong. Southwest winds will increase to 20

continue and shift to the northwest this evening. The winds will
begin to decrease after midnight.

The strong winds will cause travel difficulty for high profile

winds across the area today and into the evening. As a result

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for tonight for western
Grant...western Mineral and western Allegany Counties. A period of
accumulating snow is also possible tonight for locations further
east near the Mason-Dixon Line.

There is a potential winter commuting hazard statement for the
Washington and Baltimore metro areas for the Thursday morning
commute. A period of light accumulating snow is possible
between 7 PM tonight and 4 AM Thursday. The highest risk is near
the Mason-Dixon Line.
