* until Saturday morning.
* At 01 PM Friday the stage was 34.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 35.0 feet.
* A preliminary crest of 34.9 feet occurred at 1230 pm. The river will
  dropping below 28.0 feet Saturday morning.
* At 35.0 feet...Low lying areas flood. Underpass at KY 40 is closed
  separating the town east of the river. Left bank overtopped
  flooding bridge street.

* FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
  NORTHWESTERN LESLIE COUNTY IN SOUTHEASTERN KENTUCKY...

* UNTIL 1230 AM EST SATURDAY

* AT NOON EST...THE LESLIE COUNTY STATE HIGHWAY GARAGE REPORTED THAT
  HIGHWAY 257 REMAINS FLOODED AND CLOSED. ADDITIONAL RURAL LOCATIONS
  IN NORTHWEST LESLIE COUNTY ARE LIKELY AFFECTED BY BACKWATER
  FLOODING FROM BUCKHORN LAKE AND THE MIDDLE FORK OF THE KENTUCKY
  RIVER.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.
