...VERY WINDY ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS TODAY..THEN FREEZING
TEMPERATURES ACROSS NORTHEAST GEORGIA..THE WESTERN UPSTATE OF
SOUTH CAROLINA..AND THE NORTH CAROLINA FOOTHILLS TONIGHT...

.A VERY COLD AIR MASS WILL ACCOMPANY THE PASSAGE OF AN UPPER LOW
ACROSS THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS AND WESTERN CAROLINAS THIS
MORNING. THE LOW AND ITS COLD FRONT WILL BRING TEMPERATURES BELOW
FREEZING THAT WILL ALLOW FOR ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL ACROSS MUCH OF
THE MOUNTAINS. THE LOW TEMPERATURES WILL BE EQUALLY COLD ACROSS
THE OTHER NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAIN COUNTIES NOT LISTED IN THE
FREEZE WARNING EARLY SATURDAY...BUT THE GROWING SEASON HAS ALREADY
ENDED IN THOSE LOCATIONS...SO THEY WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE NEW
FREEZE WARNING. TEMPERATURES WILL STRUGGLE TO CLIMB THROUGH THE
40S AND LOWER 50S ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON EAST OF THE MOUNTAINS. A
DEVELOPING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM ALONG THE NORTH CAROLINA COAST WILL
ALSO PRODUCE STRONG WINDS.

* HAZARDS...STRONG WINDS MAY BLOW TREES AND LIMBS DOWN PRODUCING
  SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES. FREEZING TEMPERATURES AND SNOW WILL
  KILL CROPS.

* TIMING...THROUGH SATURDAY.

* WINDS...NORTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES...LOWS AROUND 30. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 30S.

* IMPACTS...SUBFREEZING TEMPERATURES WILL KILL ANY REMAINING
  CROPS AND SHOULD END THE GROWING SEASON. HIGH WINDS MAY BLOW
  TREES OR LIMBS DOWN AND PRODUCE SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FREEZE WARNING MEANS SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE IMMINENT OR
HIGHLY LIKELY. THESE CONDITIONS WILL KILL CROPS AND OTHER
SENSITIVE VEGETATION.

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT WINDS OF 35 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS
THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH
PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
