THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  CHRISTIAN COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...
  EASTERN BARRY COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...
  EASTERN LAWRENCE COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...
  STONE COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...
  TANEY COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI...

* UNTIL 700 PM CDT.

* AT 149 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS WITH TORRENTIAL RAINFALL ACROSS THE WARNED AREA.
  RAINFALL AMOUNTS SINCE THIS MORNING HAVE RANGED FROM ONE TO THREE
  INCHES ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE WARNED AREA. ADDITONAL RAINFALL
  AMOUNTS OF ONE TO THREE INCHES ARE EXPECTED PRIMARILY ACROSS STONE
  AND WESTEN TANEY COUNTIES.

* RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO
  OCCUR. LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE AURORA...BILLINGS...
  CLEVER...GALENA...AND REEDS SPRING. CREEKS...STREAMS AND LOW WATER
  CROSSINGS WILL BE ESPECIALLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO THE DANGERS OF FLASH
  FLOODING.

THIS WARNING INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING LOW WATER
CROSSINGS...

HIGHWAY 13 AT RAILEY CREEK NEAR REEDS SPRING...
HIGHWAY 13 AT PINE RUN NORTHWEST OF GALENA...
ROUTE U AT PEDELO CREEK NORTHEAST OF SPARTA...
ROUTE C JUST SOUTH OF MCDOWELL...
HIGHWAY 39 AT FLAT CREEK SOUTH OF JENKINS.

THIS FLASH FLOOD WARNING REPLACES THE WARNING PREVIOUSLY IN EFFECT
FOR STONE AND CHRISITAN COUNTIES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING.
RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE
PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS
SWIFTLY FLOWING WATERS OR WATERS OF UNKNOWN DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY
AUTOMOBILE.

  SOUTHWESTERN MARION COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL ARKANSAS...
  WESTERN SEARCY COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL ARKANSAS...

* UNTIL 600 PM CDT

* AT 353 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
  THUNDERSTORM WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL 5 MILES SOUTHEAST OF
  CARVER...OR 13 MILES EAST OF JASPER. DOPPLER RADAR INDICATES 1 TO 2
  INCHES OF RAIN HAVE FALLEN OVER PARTS OF THE WARNED AREA IN THE
  PAST HOUR WITH ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAIN EXPECTED. FLASH FLOODING IS
  LIKELY TO OCCUR. WHILE PRECIPITATION MAY TAPER OFF IN SOME AREAS
  DURING THE WARNING PERIOD...IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME FOR ANY HIGH
  WATER TO RUNOFF.

* AT 315 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
  THUNDERSTORM WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL NEAR HARRISON. THE HARRISON
  AIRPORT HAS RECEIVED 1.64 INCHES IN LESS THAN 20 MINUTES.
  ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAIN IS EXPECTED. FLASH FLOODING IS LIKELY TO
  OCCUR. WHILE PRECIPITATION MAY TAPER OFF IN SOME AREAS DURING THE
