...FIRST FREEZE OF THE SEASON EXPECTED FRIDAY NIGHT IN NORTHERN
ARKANSAS...

.CANADIAN HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD TOWARD ARKANSAS FROM THE NORTH
ON FRIDAY. NORTH TO NORTHWEST WINDS WILL INCREASE AND WILL BECOME
GUSTY. THE HIGH WILL MOVE OVER THE REGION FRIDAY NIGHT...WITH
WINDS DECREASING. THIS WILL ALLOW THE ATMOSPHERE TO COOL QUICKLY.
FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE LIKELY IN MUCH OF THE OZARKS OF THE
NORTH...AND IN PARTS OF THE ARKANSAS RIVER VALLEY AND OUACHITA
MOUNTAINS OF THE WEST. A FREEZE IS POSSIBLE TOWARD CENTRAL
SECTIONS OF THE STATE...WITH AREAS OF FROST THE CENTRAL AND
SOUTHERN COUNTIES.

WIND ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM TO 7 PM CDT FRIDAY.

* EVENT...NORTH TO NORTHWEST WINDS AT 10 TO 20 MPH ARE EXPECTED ON
  FRIDAY...WITH GUSTS TO 25 MPH IN PLACES.

* AREAS AFFECTED...THE LAKE WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF
  ARKANSAS EXCEPT THE SOUTHWEST.

* IMPACTS...STRONG WINDS FRIDAY WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS
  ON AREA BODIES OF WATER.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A LAKE WIND ADVISORY INDICATES THAT WINDS WILL CAUSE ROUGH CHOP
ON AREA LAKES. SMALL BOATS WILL BE ESPECIALLY PRONE TO CAPSIZING.

WIND ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM TO 7 PM CDT FRIDAY.
A FREEZE WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH

* EVENT...NORTH TO NORTHWEST WINDS AT 15 TO 25 MPH ARE EXPECTED ON
  FRIDAY...WITH GUSTS TO 30 MPH IN PLACES. WINDS WILL DECREASE
  FRIDAY NIGHT...WITH TEMPERATURES APPROACHING FREEZING IN THE
  CENTRAL THIRD OF THE STATE.

* AREAS AFFECTED...THE LAKE WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF
  ARKANSAS EXCEPT THE SOUTHWEST. THE FREEZE WATCH INCLUDES
  LOCATIONS FROM MENA TO LITTLE ROCK AND BRINKLEY NORTHWARD...AND
  SOUTH OF CAVE CITY...CLINTON AND BOONEVILLE.

* IMPACTS...STRONG WINDS FRIDAY WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS
  ON AREA BODIES OF WATER. WHERE FREEZING CONDITIONS OCCUR FRIDAY
  NIGHT...THIS WILL KILL PLANTS AND TENDER VEGETATION LEFT
  OUTDOORS WITHOUT PROTECTION.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FREEZE WATCH MEANS SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE POSSIBLE.
THESE CONDITIONS COULD KILL CROPS AND OTHER SENSITIVE VEGETATION.
FROST WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE IN THE WATCH AREA.
