THE FLOOD WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR

* MOST OF NORTHEAST FLORIDA AND PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST GEORGIA.

* THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING

* 1 TO 3 INCH ADDITIONAL RAINFALL TOTALS ARE EXPECTED OVER MOST OF
  NORTHEAST FLORIDA AND COASTAL SOUTHEAST GEORGIA THROUGH
  WEDNESDAY MORNING...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER TOTALS POSSIBLY IN COASTAL
  NORTHEAST FLORIDA.

* SATURATED GROUND CONDITIONS IN THESE LOCATIONS...COMBINED WITH
  THE ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL OVERNIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY
  MORNING MAY RESULT IN FLOODING OF LOW LYING AND POOR DRAINAGE
  AREAS. TRAINING OF HEAVY DOWNPOURS AND EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS
  ACROSS COASTAL NORTHEAST FLORIDA OVERNIGHT MAY RESULT IN LOCAL
  STORM TOTAL AMOUNTS CLOSE TO 6 INCHES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE
FLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE
PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.

.DEEP TROPICAL MOISTURE STREAMING INTO WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST
FLORIDA COMBINED WITH AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH MOVING EAST ACROSS
THE NORTHERN GULF AND A SURFACE LOW FORECAST TO DEVELOP ALONG A
FRONTAL BOUNDARY OVER THE EASTERN GULF OF MEXICO WILL BRING
WIDESPREAD AREAS OF RAIN WITH EMBEDDED STORMS TO THE REGION THE
REMAINDER OF TODAY THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY AS THESE FEATURES
AFFECT THE REGION. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES HAVE ALREADY
FALLEN ACROSS THE REGION THIS MORNING AND ADDITIONAL 2 TO 4 INCH
AMOUNTS CAN BE EXPECTED WITH LOCALIZED AMOUNTS UP TO 5 TO 6 INCHES
POSSIBLE THROUGH WEDNESDAY. THESE HEAVY RAINS WILL LIKELY LEAD TO
FLOODING OF LOW LYING AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS AS WELL AS THE
PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS. RESIDENTS LIVING IN FLOOD PRONE
AREAS OR ALONG RIVERS OR FASTER FLOWING STREAMS SHOULD MONITOR
WATER LEVELS AND BE READY TO MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IF FLOODING IS
OBSERVED.
