This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.
.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.
No hazardous weather is expected through tonight.
SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Spotter Activation Not Expected.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.
THURSDAY...No Hazards.
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...High Wind Potential.
SUNDAY...High Wind Potential.
MONDAY AND TUESDAY...No Hazards.
EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Thunderstorm chances increase across southeast Oklahoma and west-
central Arkansas in association with a weekend storm system. In
addition to the lightning potential, widespread rain could lead to
the development of a locally heavy rain threat Saturday. The
highest rainfall totals and risk for excessive rainfall currently
focus across far southeast Oklahoma and into parts of western
Arkansas. Additionally, strong winds develop Friday night through
Saturday night with maximum gusts between 25 and 35 mph.
Colder air will follow the front that is associated with the
weekend storm system. Depending on the track and strength of
another system early next week, wintry precipitation and impacts
may occur. Enough spread in the available data exists at this
range to make details, such as amounts, location and timing, very
uncertain. Please continue to monitor the forecast for updates
over the coming days.
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLANNING STATEMENT...
With potential for winter precipitation immediately following the
holiday weekend, keep checking the latest forecast information.
Expect details to be refined with time.
