.DISCUSSION...A cluster of showers and thunderstorms will end over
northwest South Dakota this morning. Isolated thunderstorms are
possible this afternoon. Otherwise, skies will become mostly sunny
with highs from the upper 90s to 105. Minimum relative humidities
will dip to the upper teens to lower 20s. Southeast winds from 10
to 15 mph over northwest South Dakota will become northwest this
afternoon. Southwest to southeast winds are expected over
southwest through south central South Dakota with speeds from 10
to 20 mph.

...Extreme Fire Danger...

The grassland fire danger index will reach the extreme category
this afternoon. Extreme weather conditions or a very low moisture
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,
indicate that critical burning conditions exist. A fire will
start easily and has the potential to become large and spread
quickly becoming erratic with extreme behavioral characteristics.
No outdoor burning should take place.

The outlook for Tuesday afternoon, The grassland fire danger
index will reach the high category to very high category.
