.NOW...
Through 6 pm, scattered showers with embedded heavier rain will
continue to meander across the eastern portions of Florida Bay, the
Upper Keys, especially near Ocean Reef, eastern Hawk Channel, and the
eastern Straits of Florida. In addition, a few isolated showers
continue to move to the east between 15 to 20 knots across the south-
central distant Straits of Florida to the south of Marathon Humps.
Mariners encountering the stronger activity can expect blinding
downpours, wind gusts of 25 to 30 knots, and occasional lightning
strikes. Island communities of the Upper Keys can expect up to an
additional tenth of an inch of rainfall. Areas around Ocean Reef may
see up to an additional quarter of an inch of rainfall.
