THE SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY AIR POLLUTION CONTROL DISTRICT
HAS ISSUED AN AIR QUALITY ALERT DUE TO SMOKE IMPACTS
FROM THE WILDFIRES IN MONTEREY COUNTY.  WINDS ARE TRANSPORTING
SMOKE FROM THESE FIRES INTO SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY.

THE AIR QUALITY ALERT IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM PDT MONDAY
AUGUST 1.

EXPOSURE TO SMOKE CAN CAUSE HEALTH PROBLEMS...AGGRAVATE LUNG DISEASE...
CAUSE ASTHMA ATTACKS AND ACUTE BRONCHITIS...AND INCREASE RISK OF
RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS.

RESIDENTS ARE ADVISED TO USE CAUTION AS CONDITIONS WARRANT. PEOPLE
WITH HEART OR LUNG DISEASE SHOULD FOLLOW THEIR DOCTORS ADVICE FOR
DEALING WITH EPISODES OF POOR AIR QUALITY.

ADDITIONALLY...OLDER ADULTS AND CHILDREN SHOULD AVOID PROLONGED
EXPOSURE...STRENUOUS ACTIVITY OR HEAVY EXERTION...AS CONDITIONS
DICTATE.

DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY...

DUE TO SMOKE FROM WILDFIRES, THE AIR QUALITY HAS BECOME UNHEALTHY
FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS IN BLAINE COUNTY OF IDAHO INCLUDING THE
CITIES OF KETCHUM, BELLEVUE AND HAILEY. THIS ADVISORY WILL REMAIN
IN EFFECT UNTIL AIR QUALITY HAS SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED.

THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE SENSITIVE TO INCREASED PARTICULATE OR
SMOKE LEVELS ARE ENCOURAGED TO LIMIT PROLONGED OR STRENUOUS
OUTDOOR ACTIVITY. AN INCREASE IN SYMPTOMS OF ASTHMA AND OTHER
RESPIRATORY AILMENTS ARE LIEKLY. YOUR COOPERATION IS APPRECIATED.

ANOTHER STATEMENT WILL BE ISSUED ABOUT 9 AM MDT SUNDAY UNLESS
CONDITIONS IMPROVE AND THE ADVISORY IS NO LONGER NEEDED.

THE SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY AIR POLLUTION CONTROL DISTRICT HAS ISSUED
AN AIR QUALITY ALERT DUE TO SMOKE IMPACTS IN SAN JOAQUIN,
STANISLAUS, MERCED, MADERA, FRESNO, KINGS, TULARE, AND THE VALLEY
PORTION OF KERN COUNTIES FROM THE SOBERANES FIRE.

THIS AIR QUALITY ALERT IS IN EFFECT UNTIL MONDAY AFTERNOON
AUGUST 1.

EXPOSURE TO PARTICLE POLLUTION CAN CAUSE SERIOUS HEALTH PROBLEMS,
AGGRAVATE LUNG DISEASE, CAUSE ASTHMA ATTACKS AND ACUTE
BRONCHITIS, AND INCREASE RISK OF RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS.
