...LARGE NORTHWEST SWELL THROUGH THIS WEEKEND...

A LARGE NORTHWEST SWELL WITH A LONG PERIOD WILL CONTINUE TO
BUILD AND SPREAD ACROSS THE NORTHERN AND OUTER COASTAL
WATERS EARLY THIS MORNING...PEAKING LATER THIS MORNING THROUGH
THIS EVENING AT 14 TO 18 FEET. SOME OF THIS LARGE SWELL ENERGY
WILL ALSO SPREAD INTO THE INNER COASTAL WATERS. DANGEROUS BREAKING
WAVES WILL BE LIKELY AT THE MORRO BAY HARBOR ENTRANCE...ESPECIALLY
THROUGH THIS EVENING. FOR THE VENTURA HARBOR...LARGE BREAKING
WAVES WILL BE POSSIBLE THROUGH TONIGHT. THESE CONDITIONS HAVE A
HISTORY OF CAPSIZING VESSELS OF VARIOUS SIZES RESULTING IN SERIOUS
INJURY OR DEATH EVEN TO THE MOST EXPERIENCED MARINERS.

MARINERS ARE ADVISED TO REMAIN IN SAFE HARBOR OR AVOID HARBOR
ENTRANCES UNTIL SEA CONDITIONS IMPROVE. PRIOR TO ENTERING HARBOR
ENTRANCES...IT IS ADVISED TO CONTACT LOCAL AUTHORITIES FOR THE
LATEST WEATHER AND SEA CONDITIONS FOR SAFE PASSING. FOR THE
LATEST INFORMATION...CONTINUE TO MONITOR NOAA WEATHER RADIO FOR
THE LATEST WEATHER INFORMATION.
