Excessive Heat Spreads East; Many Areas with Heavy Rain Threats

Hot and muggy conditions are forecast to continue across the Midwest and Northeast, while spreading eastward. A frontal boundary bringing very heavy rains to the Upper Midwest will sag southward bringing cooler temperatures to areas to the north, including the city of Chicago.
