Extreme Fire Weather Conditions in the Desert Southwest on Thursday

Strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry ground conditions increase the threat for wildfire activity in the Desert Southwest, Great Basin, Central/Southern High Plains and Southeast on Thursday. The greatest concern is in New Mexico and Arizona, where winds of 30 to 40 mph (with gusts up to 50 to 60 mph) and an extremely dry air mass will fuel Extreme-level fire weather conditions.
