Unusually strong storm for this time of year expected for Monday
night through Tuesday night. The storm, with the remains of a
former tropical system, is expected to increase marine winds to
SE gale force to 35 kt Monday night for the southern inner
channels, especially Clarance Strait. Winds are then expected to
stay elevated to 30 kt through at least Tuesday night before
diminishing. Seas are also expected to be elevated especially in
southern Clarance Strait where waves coming up from Hecate Strait
could push seas to around 8 ft or higher.
