At 356 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10 miles southwest of Ripley, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Ripley, Kenna, Statts Mills, Evans, Given, Kentuck, Fairplain, and Gay. This includes Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 124 and 137. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
