A ridge of high pressure will move overhead today with relatively light winds and temperatures near to several degrees above 1991-2020 averages. Moisture will slosh into the eastern plains nightly with backdoor fronts and eastward each afternoon with an active dryline this week. There will be a chance for showers and thunderstorms each afternoon and evening over the eastern plains, and as far west as the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. On the western edge of the moisture a mix of wet and dry thunderstorms could result in some new fire starts, and dry microbursts could produce brief, localized, and erratic wind gusts up to 50 mph.
